I just closed my eyes and open them back and close them again and.. tadaa!.. It's 17 October! Means, My parents will be goin to Makkah for their Hajj obligation in a week! And I'll be off to Kedah in 4 days. 4 days! What can I do in 4 days! I'm sure gonna miss my friends, my house, my bed, my TV, my books, my clothes.. practically everything I have to leave behind!.. huhu.. Sob..Sob =(
But hey, I'm only gonna be gone for a month. And besides, there are tons of things I could do at Tok Mi's house, like read tons of books and learn how to cook without staying 5metres away from the frying pan.. haha.. I'm really scared of frying pans, especially when cooking fried stuff. It might burn my hands! I know, what kind of 16 year-old girl still doesn't know how to cook? I can't even hold the pan properly, let alone cook a whole meal! The only thing I can cook right now is truffles and instant noodle. That's it. Nothing else. And I remember the incident that forced me to make an instant noodle.
It was a Saturday, my mom had some errands to run so she left me with my 3 little siblings at home. I can't recall where Anis went that day but she's not in the picture. Anyway, my mom was away until late noon, so by 12 noon my siblings are already cranky due to hunger. They keep bugging me everywhere I go like little birds chirping for food. So, out of desperate measures, I went to the kitchen and tried to find something edible for them to eat. But unfortunately we didn't go for our weekly grocery yet so the fridge is empty. I opened the cabinet next to it and found 2 packets of instant noodles. Thank Allah! But I still can't cook it coz I don't know how to turn on the stove. Can you believe it? I can't even turn on the stove! So, I stand there in the middle of the kitchen thinking long and hard on how to cook that damn thing.
Then it stroked me, the kettle! Hesitantly, I pour some water into the kettle, boiled it and put all the noodle and ingredients into it. Surprisingly, it turned out pretty tasty. I gave it to the little chicks and they finished it in merely 5 minutes!
So, that's the first and the last time I cooked an instant noodle and it was out of desperate measures. ^_^
